Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull visited the Port Kembla Steelworks early this year to find out more about the local impact of potential trade sanctions on steel imported into the USA.
So far, the Australian Government has had positive feedback that Australian and BlueScope steel are likely to be exempt from import tariffs.
Whilst at the Port Kembla Steelworks, the Prime Minister met with MD and CEO Mark Vassella, along with many employees as well as American College students, who happened to be visiting the steelworks that day.
